The following page outlines the procedure and policies for being assured
by Tracy and/or Jason.
CAcert Account
Create yourself an account at www.cacert.org using your email
address and a very strong passphrase. This is an important passphrase,
so be careful what you choose. You will need to provide the email
address and name from this account when you present your assurance
paperwork.
Identity Verification Form
After your account is created and your email address verified, you need
to go to the Web of Trust section on the CAcert website and click on WoT
Form. Print out one copy for each assurance you wish performed and
bring them to the meeting.
Identification
You will need a minimum of one, preferably two, forms
of government-issued photo identification. Acceptable types of
identification include (but are not limited to):
driver's license
passport
national/regional healthcare ID
permanent resident card
amateur radio license (no photo required)
Generally, picture IDs carry more weight, but not all picture-IDs are
acceptable. Examples of unacceptable identification include (but are
not limited to):
automobile insurance cards
work-issued idenification badges
social security cards
school/college/university IDs
Assurance Points
Twenty (20) points will be issued for one valid form of identification
and thirty-five (35) points will be issued for two forms, by each assurer.
If available, both Tracy and Jason will attend the meeting, so
it may be possible to attain a maximum of 70 assurance points in one
sitting.
Location
Assurances will be performed in a neutral, public setting such as a
library, shopping mall, or events such as user group meetings.
Good places to meet locally:
Panera
Bread, 309 S Duff Ave, Ames, IA (Free WiFi)
Travel/Fees
While we are technically allowed to charge a fee for assurance,
we have elected not to charge any fees beyond our direct travel expenses
from Ames, Iowa.
Contact
If you've followed the above instructions and agree to the policies
above, please contact us at cacert@menelos.com to arrange a
